Being truly fit is about having a balanced body, good mental focus and the curiosity to explore your boundaries. Element are delighted to be collaborating with The Sports Ashram and their top quality expertise for this new and unique Yoga and Fell Running Weekend for Women.
With absolutely expert, personable tuition, we’re combining the highest-quality coaching, the joy of off-road fell running and the space to develop physically and mentally through the positive role of yoga. The content of the weekend is fine-tuned for active women and will help you reach towards your potential – and all in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK.
Find out how to hone your training, get more from the fells and create a body that can move freely and a mind that can be more strongly focused to enrich your physical performance.
No previous yoga experience is necessary. The cost of the weekend includes your own yoga mat, two blocks and a belt all for you to keep and access to follow-on material.
The running and coaching sessions will be challenging in a positive way but most importantly are structured for you to be able to work at your own level.
Is This Weekend For Me? This is a weekend aimed at active, open-minded women who are keen to explore their potential and fell-running more fully and who want to explore how yoga complements the active body; women who are interested to learn from top-quality advice and who are keen to develop.
You will be able to work at your own level while feeling challenged in a positive way.
If you’ve done Element’s Beginning Fell Running day, this is the perfect follow-on. If you’ve run on trails and would like to explore fell running, this will be suitable for you. If you’re a competent runner looking to get off-road more, this weekend is also for you. If you’re an active runner but have never used yoga as part of your ‘tool box’ then you’ll get a great deal from this weekend.
Those of you who have done courses with Ruth before know that we work towards inclusivity and confidence building. Talk yourself into rather than out of this if you’re interested, and if you’re in any doubt about your ability to attend, just email Ruth and ask (Ruth@element-active.co.uk).

Where: We will be based at Llwyn Celyn, a wonderful historic 15th-century house recently restored by the Landmark Trust and sited at the southern end of the spectacular Llanthony Valley. We will use Llwyn Celyn’s light and airy beautifully restored barn for yoga and we will be using the hills close to our venue for the running. The postcode of the venue is is NP7 7NE.
Accommodation: Because accommodation is such a personal matter, we find it works better for people to choose where they would like to stay. Over the years, we have built up a directory of trusted accommodation in the area, from yurts and shepherd’s huts, to farmhouse B&Bs, to top-end luxury hotels, catering for all budgets. We’ll send you the list on booking.
Llwyn Celyn, our venue, has a basic bunkhouse, which can sleep 12 people. It’s nicely done, modern, communal accommodation with the use of kitchen, showers and your own single bed – you’ll need to bring bedding and pillow. The bunkhouse is available Friday and Saturday night at £15 a night [please indicate if you wish to book this on the booking form.]
There is also the possibility to wild camp at no charge – Ruth has a field nearby with very basic facilities. Similarly, the parking of a campervan can be arranged.
You are free to cook at Llwyn Celyn on Saturday evening, as there is a kitchen. There are also places to eat nearby. We will be happy to advise.
Covid: In this new and changing landscape that we find ourselves in, we would like to reassure you that our weekend will be Covid secure in line with the guidance we receive. In the event that we cannot go ahead, you will always be offered a rescheduled date or a full refund – and the choice is yours.
