Savour the delights of wilder running. On this unique Fell Running & Yoga Weekend for Women we combine quality coaching, so that you can gain the confidence to run in the hills, with the positive, complementary role of yoga. This is for active women who have done some off-road running – and all in one of the most stunning locations in the UK.
This is the second location for our Fell Running & Yoga Weekend, this time with all-inclusive accommodation.
If you’d rather stay on your own, there’s a booking option for this.
Accommodation: This delightful and pretty venue is a large, converted barn and stables which face into a cobbled courtyard. There are two well-equipped kitchens and a large open-plan living and dining room. You will have a twin-bed room with your own ensuite bathroom for two nights (bedding and towels included).
If you prefer to book accommodation yourself, there are plenty of nice places to stay close by. We will send you our accommodation list.
The weekend: The running and coaching sessions will be challenging – in a positive way – but are structured for you to be able to work at the level you choose. We always have a spectrum of fitness and ability, and inclusivity sits at the heart of what we offer. There is no external pressure to ‘perform’ beyond where you are comfortable.
No previous yoga experience is necessary.
The weekend will begin on Saturday morning at 9am and end on Sunday afternoon between 4.30pm and 5pm.There will be two long yoga classes during the weekend at the end of each day and three very differently focused fell running sessions. Enjoyable running on the fells sits at the heart of this weekend – and this is stunning fell country.
Breakfast will be provided for you on both days on a self-serve basis. A nutritious homemade vegetarian (with vegan option) lunch will be included on both days. There’s access to teas, coffee and snacks throughout the weekend. If you have personal complex dietary requirements, it would be appreciated if you bring your own lunch and dip into what we provide where suitable.
Is this weekend for me? This is a weekend aimed at active, open-minded women who are keen to explore their potential and fell-running more fully and who want to explore how yoga complements the active body. If you’ve done Element’s Beginning Fell Running Day, this is the perfect follow-on. If you’ve run on trails and would like to explore the world of fell running, this will be highly suitable for you. If you’re a runner looking to get off-road more, this weekend is also for you. If you’re an active runner but have never tried fell running – give it a go. If you’ve never used yoga as part of your running ‘toolbox’ then you’ll get a great deal from this weekend.
Those of you who have done courses with Ruth know that we work towards inclusivity and confidence-building. If you’re in any doubt about your ability to attend, just email Ruth and ask (Ruth@element-active.co.uk).
Can I come on my own? Yes – absolutely. There will be other people who have booked solo, and we’ve had some really nice friendships sparking during the weekend. It’s sometimes hard to book on your own but you’ll have a very warm, inclusive welcome.
Yoga equipment: You will need to bring a yoga mat. Please also bring a belt and two bricks if you have them. We can order you a yoga mat if you don’t have one (£25 – let Ruth know) and we can loan bricks and belts.
Where: We will be based in the pretty village of Llanbedr with the mountains all around and we will be using the hills close to our venue for running.
Campervan: Campervan parking can be arranged at our venue – with access to a shower, toilet and the kitchen. We ask for a £10 a night contribution if you’re doing this. Please let Ruth know if this is what you intend doing and book on a ‘no accommodation’ basis.
Camping: There is a good campsite 4 miles away – details are on our accommodation list.
Saturday evening: We will make a booking for those who want to eat out at a local pub in Crickhowell; if you’d like to cook or cook as a group, we will facilitate this. Crickhowell is two miles down the road – a lovely small town with a great range of independent shops.
Covid: Our weekend will be Covid secure in line with the guidance we receive. If we cannot go ahead, you will always be offered a rescheduled date or a full refund – the choice is yours.
If you drop out from the weekend, we will refund you (minus a £50 administration fee) if you cancel two months prior to the event. Anything after that date is non-refundable. However, we will happily accept a replacement if you find someone to take your place and we might have a waiting list.
We are a small company and employ tutors and book venues on a minimum number being reached.
We’ll send you an email with further information on the weekend and what to bring before you come.
