If you like the idea of being able to run in the mountains but have never started then this will be the perfect day for you.
We are two highly experienced top women fell runners who are passionate about getting more women to enjoy this sport. Both of us have competed internationally and have been involved with fell running for many years and… we both just love being out in the hills. We will facilitate a well-structured, confidence-building day introducing you to fell running.

The Runner’s Mind & Body Nov 19
To enjoy your running you need to sustain a resilient, flexible and fit body. Overtraining, over-racing and a resistance to making changes we often run ourselves to injury. This day is about taking a look at ourselves as runners and how we attend to our bodies and support ourselves to injury free running. A combination of indoor and outdoor sessions with four specialists, the day aims to make you more aware of the importance of balancing and supporting your running.

Maps & Mountains For Beginners
This is the key to more adventure.
You’d like to get out and into some wilder country but feel that you don’t have the map skills or full confidence to stride out. This is a great day where we ‘take the map for a good walk’ to start to understand the basics of navigation and show you that there’s nothing you can’t do here.

The Bluebells, Byways And Big Hills Walk
Date: Saturday May 12th 2018
Start time: 9.30am
Cost per person: £20.00
Start & Finish Location: The Crown, Pantygelli (near Abergavenny) Old Hereford Rd, NP7 7HRIncludes your own (to keep!) laminated map of our day route.
The first of two walks in a weekend at this absolutely glorious bluebell time of year.
On this day we walk three peaks and some unusual ancient byways that connect them. The walk will be about 13 miles over a whole day.
It is quite simply extraordinary landscape at the most beautiful budding springtime of year.
See things you’d otherwise have missed in some of the hidden corners of the beautiful Black Mountains.
And, we finish at the pub.

Progressors Map Reading (Aug 2018)
You understand the basics of an Ordnance Survey map but you know that your map reading needs more for you to feel that you can plan routes and head off confidently into some wilder country.
This is a day where we put you more pro-actively in the driving seat rather than ‘taking the map for a walk and talk’ as we did on the Beginners course. There are indoor and outdoor sessions on this day and we cover route planning and visualisation in more depth, compass work as well as grid references. With full support and knowledgeable input from a specialist tutor, you should feel that you make real progress and have fun.

The Big Walk With Trees
A long walk in the Black Mountains through contrasting landscapes and learning something about trees along the way. There’s tea and cake at the end and you are guaranteed to finish with a sense of achievement as well as having had your eyes more fully opened to trees and woodland in the beautiful Black Mountains landscape.
