July 8th & 9th 2023

There’s something very special and restorative about completing a journey. This two-day guided mountain bike ride is on gorgeous rideable trails in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It encompasses the stunning lesser-known parts of the Black Mountains. Your luggage is transported to an overnight B&B stay and a pub is booked for your group evening meal. Expect superb, manageable riding, incredible views and ‘good craic’ all round.
Weekend Content:
This guided weekend is all about taking you on a journey on two wheels into the wild, stunning Black Mountains. Expect fantastic views, great trails, long, sweeping descents, good bikeable climbs and, of course, a dash of positive challenge.
Accommodation: We take over the whole of our accommodation venue on Saturday night so that there is more than enough space for us (6 bedrooms – some very large – lots of beds). There’s a kitchen and we will book a table for you to eat as a group at the wonderful pub with great food directly across the road. Breakfast will be provided as will the ingredients for a packed lunch on the Sunday.
We will also send you a list of local accommodation if you wish to stay in the area on the Friday night.
Who is the weekend for? You will be expected to be able to ride a mountain bike. The terrain will not be technical (no jumps, no big drops, no scary descents) but you need to be happy riding a bike for the day with breaks included included of course. We work as a group and the focus is not speed but inclusivity. It is for women who are interested in the outdoors, love cycling and who are keen to challenge themselves and connect with others in a small-group environment.
If you are keen to come but have any questions about whether this weekend is for you, please email: Ruth@element-active.co.uk
Can I come on my own? Absolutely and this is something we’d like to encourage! Many of our participants come solo – it’s sometimes hard to book on your own but you’ll find a warm, inclusive welcome if you do.
Can I hire a mountain bike? We know that most people will have their own bike but if transport is difficult we can hire a good bike with front suspension for you for 2 days. We charge you what we have to pay the hire company which is £38 a day (includes helmet). Your bike will be waiting for you on arrival. Please email Ruth: Ruth@element-active.co.uk if you’d like to hire a bike.
Covid: In this new and changing landscape, we can reassure you that our weekend will be Covid secure in line with the current guidance. If we cannot go ahead, you will be offered a rescheduled date or a full refund – the choice is yours.
Cancellation policy: If you have to drop out, we will refund you (minus a £50 administration fee + Stripe processing fees) if you cancel two months prior to the event. Anything after that date is non-refundable. However, we will happily accept a replacement if you find someone else to take your place. We are a small company and we run courses, employ tutors and book venues on a minimum number being reached.
